Head Varsity golf coach Matt Fraley said the team was anticipating, “Qualifying for state,” as they headed into the 2018 season.

Fraley was an 8 year coaching veteran with all 8 years here at Capital.

I have high expectations for a couple of our players. Hopefully they can qualify for State.”

In the future, the team was looking forward to,“Finally playing golf. With all the snow, we could not get out for a week.

The coach was looking forward to “seeing if we can qualify for State in the future.”

Varsity golf team member Danielle Rooney said that golf was harder than it looked.

“I had never swung a club before and you can’t just choose any club,” Rooney said.

Playing golf is a good way to make friends.

“Golf is a fun sport because it’s fun and I get to talk to my friends,” Rooney said.

Another important thing about golf was that its an individual sport.

“It’s not like football where you have to rely on your teammates,” she said.

She hopes that, in the future, golf will still be apart of her life.

“If I marry rich then I’ll know how to play golf with the in-laws.” Rooney said.
