Junior Delano Hamilton at Capital was the president of the Art Club under Cathy Younger. This year they decided to try a different theme for the Festival of Trees and went for the Coco Theme.

“We are doing a Coco theme using skulls and 3D printing, our tree is solid black and we are working hard to make it look good. We had a bit of fun working on the part that had the grandma’s hair but my favorite decoration was the 3D printed dogs,” Hamilton said.

They used different techniques but most of the work was painting and assembling the decorations.

Senior Katie Nieto was a senior in Capital’s Art Club. Katie helped paint the cats and paper-mâché. “We really put our hearts into it and worked together” Nieto said.

It was her first year in Art Club, she enjoyed working on the skulls and 3d printed animals as well as the very creative environment working on the tree.
