With a record of 2-6 on 12/08/18 Head Coach Ron Marthe said that the most memorable moment of the season for the Varsity Basketball team was when they beat Borah High School.
New this season was A new head and assistant head coach
A 7 year coaching veteran, Marthe said that one athlete of note was senior Lauren Baumgartner because “She’s an amazing leader and so humble, despite being so good at her craft.”
Another athlete was senior Emily Fales because “She’s been so positive and persistent all these years just waiting for her opportunity to play in a big role.”
     Marthe said that Our Team Motto is “Wings Up!” We want our positive, upbeat attitude to shine through regardless of the score.
In the future, Marthe said that “We look forward to connecting as a team as we prepare for the post-season so that we can scare some of the more talented teams in our league.”
Senior Lauren Baumgartner said she was looking forward to playing with her team and improving. Baumgartner also said she looked forward to the season.
“Getting to play with my great team and seeing our improvement was great,” Baumgartner said.
“We are still working but we are getting better,” she said.
     Baumgartner was very excited to play with her new team and coach. Baumgartner really wanted to play in college in the future and she was looking forward to her future in basketball. Senior Lucy Jacobsen said that she was excited for the season because it was a chance to meet new people and new coaches.
“The Coach is great, he brings us together with pure talent,” Jacobsen said.
“He’s a great guy, I hope he is here for a long time,”she said.
     Jacobsen really liked the team dinners because they were fun and hosted by someone every week. Jacobsen was excited for the future and wanted to improve her abilities.
“I want to increase my ability and get better,” Jacobsen said.
